Bang Golf FAST 50" LD Golf Shaft!
FAST stands for Flow Alignment System Technology. When used in concert with the Bang-O-Matic, ST539, and Bangster Driver Heads the result is one of the most accurate and forgiving clubs in all of Long Drive! Your swing provides the Power, these clubs keep you in the grid!
After testing this club ( Bang-O-Matic 6* with a prototype FAST 50" LD XX shaft set at LDA 48.5") with over 800 hits in the first round of trials, I was impressed by the accuracy the club gave me. It takes a lot of pressure off when you know you can "let it loose" and still hit the grid! After Round 1 of trials, it was on to Round 2...
Round 2 consisted of pulling the shaft, preping both head and shaft, re-assembling the components, and then off to the range for another 800 to 1,000 hits. As with any graphite shaft, you need to be careful how much heat to use to pull the shaft from the head. Too much heat will break down the Resins in the shaft and will affect the performance of the golf shaft. After finishing Round 2 of trials, I noted no defamation of either head or shaft. The numbers on the grid were very similar to those in Round 1. On to Round 3...
Round 3, once again, consisted of pulling the shaft out of the head, preping the shaft and head, re-assembling the components, and off to the range for 800 more hits. This round was important for Bang Golf. If the shaft and the club head both survive the "pull" with no defamation in performance, then Bang Golf would be considered for inclusion to promotion on this website!
Results: after over 2600 hits, two "pulls", a spine rotation from 3 o'clock to 9 o"clock, and registering both heel and toe mishits, I found the Bang-O-Matic 6* w/ FAST 50" LD shaft to be as accurate and forgiving after round 3 as it was in Round 1 of test trials. Shot trajectory stayed the same throughout... more mid-boring trajectory with the 3 o'clock setting: slightly higher for the 9 o'clock setting! (Not sure why those settings would alter a trajectory?) Distances varied slightly from 3 to 9 settings. 3 o'clock setting landed, on ave., 5 yards less than the 9 o'clock setting, but did gain on the ground by rolling a full 8 yards further! SORRY! I don't know why!!! Just the facts!!!
The FAST 50" LD shafts are unique in 3 different areas...
1) Even at 50" this shaft weighs in at only 62-66 gms
2) Parallel Tip section is a full 6"! This means more options when trimming.
3) Torque Ratings from 2.8 to 1.6. Some of the highest standards in LD!
